Whether you are a complete beginner, a nervous pupil, you've failed a test or even been banned, you are all welcome. Your lessons will be well structured but also fun. I will teach you safe driving for life so we will also have lessons where I will teach you how to safely drive on bendy country roads. These are the roads which sadly claim most young lives simply because the driver didn't have the experience of knowing how to deal with them. As a Driving Instructor I am teaching you to Drive not just pass a test. I want you to enjoy your lessons and look forward to the next one.

Learning to Drive

Learning to drive should be fun. If you are enjoying your lessons you will learn much better, it's a fact. I will provide you with your own progress card which we will mark off at the end of each lesson and every lesson will be tailored to meet your needs. At the end of each lesson I will provide you with feedback on your progress and then I will discuss with you what we will be doing on our next lesson.

There have been many times when I have been asked the question "how long will it take?". This is a very difficult question to answer because everyone is different and we all learn at different paces. On average to reach test standard it can take 40 - 50 hours but some people might need less and others might need more. By following your progress record you will soon see how quickly you are progressing and I will always be honest with you, as you can be with me. Also having access to a car for some private practice can reduce the number of hours you will need.

Intensive Driving Courses

One Week Pass Course

This course is ideal for people who don't have a lot of time on their hands. The course consists of 40 hours (2 of which are for the driving test). Typically the course would start on Monday and finish on Friday subject to the test date. There will be 2 x 15 minute breaks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. We will also break for lunch for 30 minutes (lunch time will be additional to your hours).

Semi Intensive Course

This is the same as the one week pass but it can be spread over 3 - 6 weeks.

Pass Plus Courses

Pass Plus is a driving course you can take after passing your test. It comprises of 6 hours and you have to complete the following modules:

By completing the Pass Plus course you will gain more experience of driving in different conditions. Because you have the additional experience you can receive big discounts on your insurance premiums. There is no test to take, you are assessed and marked by your Instructor over the duration. Upon completing the course you will receive a certificate from the DSA. You will need this certificate to claim your insurance discount.

Terms and Conditions

You must hold a current valid licence (either provisional or full) which must be produced on the first lesson. You must also be able to read a number plate from a distance of 20.5 metres (67 feet) using your glasses if normally worn.

Your Instructor will be a fully qualified ADI on the Driving Standards Agency's (DSA) register of Approved Driving Instructors. Your Instructor will adhere to the DSA's Code of Conduct. This means that they will behave in a totally professional manner at all times.

The training car supplied will be kept in a roadworthy, safe and legal condition. It will be fully insured for the purpose of giving driving tuition.

Appointment cards which will be provided must be brought to every lesson so that appointments can be confirmed in writing.

Progress sheets which the school will provide must be brought to every lesson.

Lesson payments should be made at the beginning of each lesson. Cheques are accepted as payment, however if you are paying by cheque then you must pay for lessons in advance.

You will need to give a minimum of 48 hours notice should you need to cancel a lesson. Any lessons canceled within this period must be paid for in full before any further lessons will be booked. Any cancellations must be by telephone to the school. Cancellations by Texts, emails etc will not be accepted. There is an answer phone service should there be no reply at the school so you can leave a message regarding your cancellation.

If after arriving at your nominated pick up point for your lesson and there is no reply, your Instructor will wait for approximately 15 minutes. If after 15 minutes you have not made contact or your Instructor is unable to reach you, the lesson will be abandoned and you will be required to pay for the lesson(s) in question.

While every care will be taken to ensure Pupils receive training at the requested time, all bookings are made on the understanding that the School is not responsible for the postponement of training due to traffic conditions, adverse weather conditions, mechanical breakdown of equipment or any other cause outside of our control.

Pupils are not to take lessons under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The instructor will stop the lesson if he or she suspects that the pupil is not fit to drive and the lesson will be paid in full.

If your test is canceled by the DSA, due to bad weather, staff shortage or illness, We will still charge for the amount of hours booked. You will be able reclaim your expenses directly from the DSA under these circumstances.

When arriving at the test centre on test day, both instructor and pupil will check that all bulbs are working correctly on the vehicle being used for test. If a bulb blows during the show me tell me, all efforts will be made to change the affected bulb. If however the test is canceled, we will not be liable to refund your test fee.

If, on the grounds of safety and professional opinion, your driving standard is below the standard required, we can decline the use of the car for the driving test. This may result in you forfeiting your driving test fee. This is necessary to protect other road users, yourself and the Car.

If there are any increases in lesson prices then Pupils will be given at least one weeks notice in writing.

Nothing in these terms and conditions will reduce your statutory rights relating to faulty or mis-described goods or services provided. If you have any doubts about your statutory rights please contact your local Trading Standards Department or Citizens Advice Bureau.
